The Milton Youth Soccer Club is a participating member of the Vermont Soccer Association. By virtue of this affiliation, MYSC is part of the Olympic and national developmental and club system of U.S. Youth Soccer, U.S. Soccer, and the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) – the international governing body of football/soccer. As a coach with MYS, you are part of this hierarchy of football in the United States, and can benefit from coaching certification opportunities, resources to develop coaching and youth soccer skills, and participation in tournament play at competitive levels.

The first step in becoming an MYS coach is filling out the Milton Youth Soccer Club Coaching Application. When you complete the form it is submitted to the Coach Coordinator and other Board Members. The Coach Coordinator will contact you after reviewing your application.

Vermont Soccer Association | Vermont Development Program / Olympic Development Program / Coaching Courses

The Vermont Soccer Association (VSA) is an affiliated member of the United States Youth Soccer Association, United States Soccer Federation, and FIFA. The VSA Director of Coaching and Assistant State Director of Coaching are both valuable resources for youth soccer coaches in Vermont. The VSA also offers Coaching Courses to assist aspiring coaches in getting certified witih “E” or “D” Licenses, competitive club coaching, and National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) National Diploma preparation.

MYS competes in both the Vermont Soccer League (Spring) and VSA Fall League seasons.

United States Youth Soccer Association | Coaches

US Youth Soccer is the largest member of the United States Soccer Federation, the governing body for soccer in the United States, made up of 55 member State Associations; one in each state, and two in California, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas. The Coaches section of the U.S. Youth Soccer site provides access to downloadable PDF documents of practice activities, tournament listings, upcoming courses and the official U.S. Youth Soccer Coaching Manual.

United States Soccer Federation | Coaching Education

As the governing body of soccer in all its forms in the United States, U.S. Soccer has played an integral part in charting the course for the sport in the USA for more than 100 years. U.S. Soccer is the certifying authority for National “A” through “F” and “Goalkeeping” Licenses. Preparatory content and information on national coaching courses and schools is also available on the Coaching Education portion of the site. The Digital Coaching Center is under development, but promises more content in late 2015.

Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) | FIFA Grassroots

The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) is an association governed by Swiss law founded in 1904 and based in Zurich. It has 209 member associations and its goal, enshrined in its Statutes, is the constant improvement of football. The FIFA Grassroots website offers technical information and videos on basic techniques, small-sided games, and example exercises.

National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) | eLearning

Founded in 1941 and based in Kansas City, Mo., the National Soccer Coaches Association of America has grown into the world’s largest soccer coaches’ organization that serves members at every level of the game. The NSCAA eLearning site affords the youth coach a wealth of content, ideas, and material to build skills and knowledge of the game.

Soccer Association for Youth (SAY) | Coaches

The Soccer Association for Youth, USA (SAY Soccer) was founded in 1967 in Cincinnati, Ohio where it remains nationally based today. SAY provides a wide array of services and support to our members including but not limited to insurance, coaching and referee support. The Coaches section of the website has coaching manuals for different age groups, drill videos, age-specific field and rules information, and great coaching manuals.
